Create ISO Images in Windows XP
Posted on June 11th, 2007 by Dennis Little
I have used the free Power Toy ISO Recorder for quite a while on Windows XP and the program works great; it is available for Windows Vista as well. If you have a CD that you want to rip an ISO* of for backup purposes, this is a great tool to use. Once installed, just pop the CD you wish to make an ISO of into the drive, then right-click on the CD drive letter in My Computer and click “Create image from CD” to rip the ISO.

*ISO: A file format that allows you to create an exact image of a CD or DVD (optical media). This allows you to then burn the image to another CD or DVD at another time and have an exact copy of the original.
